Bento Escapade #4

 bento-4.JPG

My mom came over yesterday and I cooked slightly more plus watercress soup. We had roasted chicken and luckily there was some sauce left from it so the chicken meat won’t be tasteless. I fried some leftover choi sum for Iris and snow peas for Ian together. There was also Stuffed Mushroom which I got the recipe from Delicious Asian Food as I have only 1 mushroom recipe for my own cookbook.

There was also separate dessert for the kids and with the small cuts of strawberry and grapes, I let the kids dipped their fruits into Hersheys Chocolate syrup. Boy! They enjoyed this the best!

Kids never like mushroom and the only mushroom Ian eats is the deep fried mushroom from Italian Restaurant. I don’t encourage frying it at home and so I tried this Stuffed Mushroom recipe. Besides, I still have 1 leftover homemade salted egg, and with other available ingredients in my fridge, I did this stuffed mushroom and waited patiently so I could eat it during lunch.

Unfortunately, kids still don’t like mushroom but Ian finished the mixed pork ingredients. I like the stuffed mushroom and it is different from what I would usually cook. This recipe is not difficult and don’t require lots of ingredients and time. Plus, it is just steaming of mushroom and my kitchen was saved from being tortured with constant oil splashing everywhere.

Mom ate a few and I walloped the rest. It made me full and instead of eating more rice/carb, this dish is healthy for me and a good diet too. Can lose wait by eating this… :)
